Aleister Crowley bought the eighteenth century mansion in 1899. He said that it was the ideal place because of its loneliness and history. The mansion was said to be built on a burned down church where a whole congregation was burned down to death while a tending to mass.
There are many tales about the strange things that happened in the mansion during Crowley’s residence. There are stories of people dying and disappearing mysteriously. There was this one time a butcher cleaved off his own hand after receiving a meat order from Crowley. The parchment that the meat was wrapped on was full of spells written on it. The Abramelin ritual, which was practiced by Crowly, involves summoning demons and how to subdue them. It is believed that some of the summoned demons run wild locally and terrify the villages near the mansion.
Crowley decided to sell the house to fund his books.
From the early 1970s to well into the 1980s, Boleskine was owned by famed Led Zeppelin guitarist and Aleister Crowley enthusiast, Jimmy Page.
In the 1990s, the building was sold again. It is now a private residence and its owner continually complains of having to deal with a number of Crowley devotees who turn up on his doorstep.

I bet Crowley agitated the spirits who originally reside in that house. I just read a couple of his books.. but i know they deal with some serious rituals.
According to some experts that deals with spirits, a house that has no dwellers for a long time attracts wandering spirits for they are looking for a place wherein they can stay. An abandoned house for example, is the place that is most likely to have spirits. Spirits like those places that are quiet and it's hard to get rid of them once they have resided in the house. They might harm the people that have tried to enter to what they consider as their territory.
lol this is interesting... Aleister Crowly interests me but sometimes I get confused with his works; all the stuff about mysticism.
