The 35th Annual Meeting of the Society for Scientific Exploration (SSE) and the 59th Annual Convention of the Parapsychological Association (PA) will be held together as a joint meeting this year. The dates are Sunday, June 19, 2016, through Thursday, June 23, 2016, with a reception and registration Sunday evening, and workshops on Friday the 24th. The location will be the newly renovated Millennium Hotel in Boulder, Colorado, USA.
This is the first joint meeting of the SSE and PA and it promises to be an adventure and quite a learning experience. Although each organization has its own purview and style, the program will be integrated so that we will listen to and have a chance to comment on many talks that will have a different flavor. The meeting will have a single program committee directed by Roger Nelson, but co-chairs to facilitate evaluation of submissions from members of the two organizations. Chantal Toporow has accepted that responsibility for the SSE perspective, and Renaud Evrard will be the point person for the PA submissions. They intend to create a program with a mix of presentations from PA and SSE members, and there will be no concurrent sessions. They will keep the meeting to 4 days by selecting the best submitted papers, and by using dynamic poster sessions as well as some evening sessions for panels and special presentations.
