  • Thanks for your nice comment about my photos. My novel is about Victorian 'spirit photography.' William Mumler in your country was the pioneer here in the 1860s. In the early part of the 20thC Sir Arthur Conan Doyle was a firm believer in spirit photography (ghost photography). Houdini challenged Doyle on this and their close friendship soured largely as a result of this. Although the history of spirit photography had a great many charlatans, there are a small number of photographs that have not been debunked by sceptics. Your American Museum of Photography has an interesting website with a number of spirit photographs that you might find of interest.
